CSW – Senior Practitioner- Special Guardianship Team
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CSW – Senior Practitioner to join our Special Guardianship Team. In this pivotal role, you will play an essential part in supporting and promoting the welfare of children in special guardianship arrangements. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of the complexities involved in child protection and family law, combined with a passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and their families. You will lead a team of social workers, providing guidance, supervision, and support, ensuring that assessments and interventions are effective and meet the needs of children and families. As a Senior Practitioner, you will also be responsible for overseeing case management, quality assurance, and compliance with statutory requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to safeguarding and an ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including families, schools, and other agencies. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a case load of Special Guardianship cases.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and their families.
- Provide supervision and support to junior social workers within the team.
- Develop and implement tailored support plans for special guardianship arrangements.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Monitor and review the progress of cases, making necessary adjustments to interventions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and local authority policies.
- Deliver training and support to the team and partner agencies as needed.
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Significant experience in child protection and family support.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for effective assessment and decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children and families.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legislation related to special guardianship and child welfare.
