Cemetery and Crematorium Operative SC2
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team. In this role, you will oversee cemetery operations, conduct burials and cremations, and ensure facilities are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and efficiency. You will work closely with bereaved families and funeral directors, offering support and guidance while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
- Conduct burials and cremations in accordance with company policies and legal regulations.
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of cemetery and crematorium grounds and facilities.
- Assist families and funeral directors with arrangements and provide information as needed.
- Operate and maintain equipment used in cemetery and crematorium operations, including hearses and grave-digging tools.
- Prepare gravesites, including digging and backfilling, in a safe and respectful manner.
- Manage office tasks related to cemetery operations, including record-keeping and scheduling.
- Coordinate with local authorities and other organizations for compliance with regulations regarding burials and cremations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in cemetery or crematorium operations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate demeanor when dealing with grieving families.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion and respect.
- Good physical fitness, as the job involves lifting and manual labor.
- Valid driver\βs license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
