We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by providing support to chefs and kitchen staff while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. As a Kitchen Assistant/Porter, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain insight into the culinary industry.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing ingredients, cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, and assisting with food preparation tasks.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Washing, drying, and storing kitchen dishes, utensils, and equipment after use.
  • Helping with the packing and presentation of food items for service.
  • Ensuring that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained in good condition.
  • Assisting with receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper inventory management.
  • Supporting chefs with basic cooking tasks, such as chopping vegetables and measuring ingredients.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food preparation is a plus.

Schedule: 08:00 – 18:00

Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
