Ben Pentreath Ltd | Part Time HR Manager

3 days per week (equivalent) / flexible working pattern

We have an opening for an experienced HR Manager to join our creative and friendly team of architects, designers and support staff.

We are looking for a kind and approachable professional that can continue to nurture and sustain our unique and engaging workplace culture, whilst maintaining a fair, reliable and expert service in all areas of human resources. Experience in the architecture/interiors sector is advantageous but not necessary. A keen personal interest in this industry is of course welcomed.

Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years\' experience in HR including generalist HR support. They will be an excellent communicator with confidence, superb organisational skills, and sharp attention to detail.

They will have integrity, a positive outlook, discretion, brilliant soft skills and will recognise, encourage and inspire the strengths, wellbeing and potential that are present throughout the workforce.

Setting high standards and reinforcing company values, the HR Manager will be a keen collaborator and will find pleasure in being an active part of, and in supporting, a happy, thriving and productive working environment.

Reporting to, and advising the board of directors, the HR manager is encouraged to form professional, meaningful connections at all levels of the business.

We hope to find someone that will closely manage and help to preserve the structure and veracity of the workforce as the business evolves.

The HR Manager will have an excellent working knowledge of HR policies, practices and legislation. They will be proficient in all Microsoft Office packages with a high level of grammatical and arithmetical understanding.

Responsibilities include:

· Managing, maintaining, updating and implementing staff policies

· Maintaining company HR systems (we use Access People HR Software)

· Keeping staff handbook and procedure guides up to date

· Organising CPD\'s, staff trainings, learning and development

· Co-ordinating payroll with external provider

· Organising performance reviews – managing, conducting and follow up

· Leading all areas of recruitment; examining and recording references

· Organising internships

· All employment administration

· Staff Health & Safety compliance and training (we have an external advisor)

· Staff announcements and updates

· Managing staff benefits

· Data-keeping and maintaining accurate records

· Compiling and updating job descriptions

· Generating clear and concise reports

· Maintaining all area of HR compliance, both from an employment law perspective and RIBA chartered membership requirements

· Staff inductions

· Fostering productivity and engagement in all elements of personnel

The role can have a degree of flexibility between full and half days, office and remote working. Applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English and have the ability to work in the UK.
