Overview

Workforce Development Lead (Maternity Cover)

We are recruiting for an experienced Workforce Development Lead (Maternity Cover) to join the bemix team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our passionate and values-led Workforce Development team as Workforce Development Lead (Maternity Cover). Working closely with the Head of Development to make a meaningful impact in a progressive, values-driven organisation.

Main aim

To provide inclusive, values-led workforce development support across recruitment, onboarding, line management support, data management, policy implementation and workforce communications, ensuring every staff member experiences a consistent, supportive and person-centred journey at bemix.

To translate strategic workforce priorities into effective systems and processes that promote compliance, enable data-informed decision making, and support staff and managers to thrive in their roles.

To model and embed the bemixEPICvalues and co-production principles in all aspects of workforce development, supporting an inclusive, neurodiverse and person-centred working culture.

Hours

Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9-5 pm, with unpaid break time allocated for each day.

Location

The role offers hybrid working, combining remote and office-based work. The post holder is expected to work from a bemix office for a minimum of three days each week with regular travel to other bemix locations across Kent as required. Your office will be based at the Canterbury Innovation Centre, University of Kent site. With access to facilities including free parking, cafe, reliable local transport connections and outdoor spaces to explore during breaks. Flexibility in working hours and location may be available, by agreement, to support wellbeing and work-life balance in line with our organisational values.

Salary and benefits

£32,000 per annum. Generous 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays. Contributory Pension Scheme (5% of pay).

Requirements

  • Significant senior HR or workforce leadership experience (CIPD qualified or equivalent desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR systems and workforce best practice.
  • A proven track record in recruitment, staff wellbeing, performance management and development.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative working style with a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience working in the charity, social enterprise or disability sector would be an advantage.
