Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Interior Design Retail Assistant. This role involves supporting customers with their interior design needs, assisting with visual merchandising, and providing exceptional personal service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for interior design. Fluency in English is essential, as is basic maths. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in a variety of areas connected to Interior Design.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, demonstrating excellent communication skills and assisting them in selecting interior design products that meet their needs and preferences.
- Provide advice on colour schemes and decorative accessories.
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items to maximise sales opportunities.
- Maintain organised displays and ensure the retail space is visually appealing through effective merchandising techniques.
- Assist with stock management, including inventory checks and replenishment of products on the shop floor.
- Support clients with personal service, helping with colour matching, measurements, and basic maths calculations for project planning.
- Receive and process deliveries to ensure correct items correspond with the orders.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations and a high standard of customer service.
Requirements
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to manage displays and stock efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a professional approach.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and pricing estimates.
- Previous experience or interest in interior design or retail merchandising is preferred but not essential.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Pay
From £12.71 per hour. Rate of pay increased with experience!
