Become part of the story of Belvoir Castle. We're looking for enthusiastic Volunteer Castle Guides to welcome visitors and bring the castle's rich history to life through engaging tours and conversation across our State Rooms and grounds. This is a wonderful opportunity for history lovers to spend time in a spectacular setting, meet people from all over the world, and be part of a friendly, welcoming volunteer team. Full training on the castle's history and collections will be provided, so no prior guiding experience is necessary.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Guiding visitors around the State Rooms and sharing the castle's history
- Bringing to life stories of the Dukes and Duchesses of Rutland and the Manners family
- Answering visitor questions and helping create a memorable castle experience
- Keeping a friendly, watchful eye over the collections while visitors explore
- Working alongside our House team on open days
What We're Looking For:
- A passion for history, heritage and storytelling
- Confident, friendly and comfortable speaking with groups of visitors
- Reliable and happy to commit to agreed volunteering days
- Previous guiding or public speaking experience is helpful but not essential
