Full time assistant manager required for our busy boarding kennels and cattery. The successful candidate must be confident in handling dogs and cats of all sizes using positive reinforcement methods, have a full driving license, and be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers.

To be considered, you must hold a minimum of a level 3 animal qualification (this is due to our 5* rated licensing). 2+ years of industry experience is essential, as the role involves upskilling staff in canine/feline body language.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to and working alongside the kennel & cattery manager to lead a small team of staff in the day to day running of the kennels and cattery
  • Assisting the kennel & cattery manager in training/upskilling staff
  • Feeding cats & dogs as per individual requirements
  • Administering medication (oral, topical and injectable - training will be given)
  • Having the experience/knowledge to suitably assess and group dogs from different households for walks (where clients give permission for their dogs to mix)
  • Exercising dogs both individually and in small social groups if appropriate (max 5 dogs per walk)
  • Enrichment/playtime with the cats individually
  • Health checking/daily wellbeing checks
  • Cleaning kennels and cat pens
  • Basic dog grooming (bathing, drying and brushing)
  • Assisting and forming a good relationship with clients and their pets
  • Driving company vehicle (automatic) for vet visits, collections/deliveries of pets
  • Basic admin duties (training given)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £13.00-£13.75 per hour
