Beluga Rox is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and passionate Ofsted Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a beautiful, modern residential home in Warrington. This established home provides specialist care and support for children and young people aged 7 to 17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Difficulties. The Role

As Registered Children's Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management, and development of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the home in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and Ofsted requirements.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a team of residential childcare professionals.
  • Creating a positive, therapeutic, and child-centred environment where young people feel safe, supported, and valued.
  • Working collaboratively with families, local authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes.
  • Ensuring each young person has a comprehensive care plan that addresses their educational, emotional, social, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
  • Overseeing safeguarding practices and ensuring the welfare of all children and young people remains paramount.
  • Managing quality assurance processes, including weekly and monthly audits and self-evaluation activities to support Regulation 45 reporting.
  • Leading and preparing for Ofsted inspections, with a focus on achieving the highest possible outcomes and ratings.
  • Driving continuous improvement across all aspects of the service.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience within a residential childcare setting.
  • At least one year of experience in a supervisory, deputy manager, or management position.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or be actively working towards it).
  • A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
  • A passion for improving the lives of children and young people.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • The ability to meet Ofsted's Fit Person requirements, including enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references, and employment history checks.
  • Qualified in a level 3 or 4 children’s homes qualifications essential.
