Overview

Join Alcedo Care as a Residential Children’s Support Worker working within our Newton Le Willows & St Helens child‑resident homes. We are expanding our Children’s Residential Services and looking for passionate workers to join our homes in Warrington and St Helens.

The Role

As a Residential Children’s Support Worker you will create a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will support young people with daily routines, emotional wellbeing, education, independence and personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Provide emotional support and promote positive behaviours.
  • Support education, appointments, and recreational activities.
  • Encourage independence and life‑skills development.
  • Create a safe, structured, and supportive home environment.
  • Complete daily records and reports.
  • Support household tasks including meal preparation and daily routines.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within an Ofsted residential children’s home or similar care setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
  • Passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Ability to remain calm, resilient and supportive in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.

Shift Pattern

This role involves 24‑hour shift patterns including sleep‑ins.
