Sales Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a proactive and personable Sales Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to engage with diverse customers. Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping experience
• Provide product information and answer customer queries effectively
• Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending suitable items
• Maintain attractive merchandising displays in line with company standards
• Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
• Manage stock levels, organise stockroom, and ensure products are well-presented
• Handle phone enquiries professionally, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette
• Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth store operations
• Keep the sales area clean, organised, and welcoming at all times

Skills

• Fluency in English
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• Organised with excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
• Basic maths skills for handling transactions and cash register operations
• Ability to upsell products by understanding customer needs and preferences
• Professional phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries or follow-ups
• Organisational skills to manage stock levels and maintain a tidy sales environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Up to £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 5.5 – 19.5 per week
