Reporting to: Payroll Manager

Contract type: 12-month fixed term contract

Salary: Competitive + annual company performance related bonus up to 10% + 20 days annual leave + Pension contributions

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-driven Senior Payroll Administrator to join our team and help ensure our people are paid accurately and on time, every time. You’ll play a key role in delivering end-to-end payroll, maintaining compliance with HMRC regulations, and supporting continuous improvement across payroll operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Process monthly payroll inputs (starters, leavers, changes, attendance data) accurately and on time
  • Calculate pay adjustments, deductions, benefits, SSP and company sick pay
  • Manage statutory payments including maternity/paternity and court orders
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and complete manual calculations where required
  • Contribute to successful payroll runs in line with SLAs

Benefits & Compliance

  • Administer pensions, benefits (e.g. Ride to Work, childcare) and salary sacrifice schemes
  • Maintain accurate P11D and P46 (car) records and ensure HMRC reporting deadlines are met
  • Process payments (BACS, CHAPS, cheques) and manage overpayment recovery
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC, ACAS and internal policies

Team & Business Support

  • Support the Payroll Manager and provide informal leadership when required
  • Act as a key point of contact for payroll queries across the business
  • Produce reports and handle payroll-related communications
  • Promote GDPR best practice and always maintain confidentiality
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong experience delivering end-to-end payroll (multiple payrolls)
  • In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
