Supply Chain Operations Manager - Dual Site

Salary: Up to £48,000 DOE + annual company performance related bonus up to 20% + 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays + employer pension contribution up to 10% + private medical cover

Overview

As part of the Supply Chain leadership team across two Mini Distribution Centres, you will lead a team to deliver and maintain excellent customer service, ensuring products are available at all times.

You will manage two first line managers and foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and engage the team, acting as a role model for standards, behaviours and performance, while motivating and managing all employees fairly and consistently to maintain and improve employee engagement.
  • Coach and develop team members, encouraging a high‑performance culture.
  • Support day‑to‑day operations and activities to ensure the effective and efficient completion of work, taking a hands‑on approach when required.
  • Partner closely with Autoglass Operations Managers and share best practice.
  • Manage relationships with wholesale customers, providing excellent service and using influencing and negotiation skills to maximise sales and opportunities.
  • Build relationships with the wider Supply Chain Leadership team to share best practice and foster collaboration.
  • Ensure deliveries are on time and efficient through logistic planning and route optimisation.
  • Ensure the team is fully aware and trained in required processes.
  • Manage the budgeted headcount and take ownership of recruitment and onboarding.
  • Create a safety culture that puts health, wellbeing and safety at the forefront, leading and challenging in Health & Safety practice.
  • Cascade key company messages to the team on a regular basis.
  • Embrace continuous improvement, driving year‑on‑year improvements in all key areas.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date SOP records and manage Site, Fleet, SHE and MHE within your span of control.
  • Manage team data in Workday HRIS, conduct data audits and encourage self‑audits for accuracy.
  • Recognise and celebrate success informally and through internal recognition systems.
  • Conduct effective and engaging checkpoint conversations covering wellbeing, performance, future expectations, and career development.
  • Carry out all performance‑related activities for the team.
  • Embed corporate social responsibility (CSR) into team working practices.
  • Support sales growth and cost‑management initiatives while enhancing customer service.
  • Champion the Gemba Kaizen philosophy of process improvement and waste reduction.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Health & Safety (e. g., IOSH) minimum requisite.
  • Proven experience managing in logistics or supply chain.
  • Knowledge of in‑house systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and presentation skills.
  • People leadership and experience managing people processes.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to drive results through engaging with people.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and coaching skills.
  • Experience in change management (desirable).
  • Agile and flexible mindset, capable of identifying potential problems and resolving them proactively.
  • Experience managing first‑line staff (between 20‑25 direct reports).
