The purpose of this job is to be a critical part of a Global FPA team. The role will report to the Group Head of FPA and will work closely with them and the wider Global FPA team to help drive the Group’s financial performance. This is a high-profile role in the organisation and would have principal ownership of the Group’s Investment case review process, 5YP Modelling, Valuations work, Earnings call preparation and general FPA / performance management activities.

The role will offer engagement opportunities with the Group FD and Group CFO, as well as key BU and Regional Finance leaders. The role will also have responsibility for business partnering with one of the Group’s Regions, understanding financial performance, providing robust and data-led opinions to key Leadership stakeholders, distilling the complex operations of the Region into the key areas that will be relevant for the Group.

The business has grown considerably in recent years, and this opportunity offers the candidate a chance to have a seat at the table of a company that is on a significant upward trajectory with a mandate to prioritise and accelerate its FPA capabilities. This role will also be pivotal in supporting them gear up for any future transactions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

This is not a financial reporting role (covered by a separate team) but a role that will work closely across key stakeholders to help support long term decision making / messaging of the Group’s performance both retrospectively and looking forward. Working within a team of 7, the responsibilities and accountabilities will include:

  • Business partnering with one of the Group’s Regions – supporting performance understanding and forward-looking implications.
  • 5YP, Long term planning, insight and ad-hoc analysis – owner of long term financial projections for the Group.
  • Consensus monitoring – reviewing external Belron analyst coverage and comparing internal projections to market consensus.
  • Valuations – supporting Group valuations and long-term projections.
  • Investment Review team support – supporting CEO / CFO in investment decision making.
  • Bonus calculations, tracking and support – working with Group Reward.
  • Going Concern / modelling support.

THE PERSON

Level of Education: CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified accountant with significant post-qualified experience.

Work Experience:

  • Demonstrable and relevant FPA experience – working with senior leadership and stakeholders consistently.
  • Experience in building and maintaining financial models – going beyond the number crunching to provide commercial and operational insights and actions.
  • Experience of quickly building business understanding and proven record of being proactive in finding opportunities to improve the Status Quo.
  • Providing messaging and financial analysis to help articulate performance / influence key stakeholders.

Knowledge & Settings:

  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Strong experience of financial business partnering and performance reporting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team management skills.
  • Able to challenge/question commercial & financial assumptions in an effective way – understanding the “so what” of any insights generated.
  • Demonstrated clear analytical skills – utilising to identify trends/gaps and build alternative scenarios reflecting business challenges.
  • Highly proficient in financial analysis / modelling – excel or otherwise.
