We now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Caretaker to be involved in the village on Palatine Road in Didsbury and to be a visible and positive role model for providing an excellent maintenance service to our customers. As the Caretaker you will provide support to village teams to maintain the village in a clean, attractive and functional condition and work with the property department to ensure that the village building, equipment and fixtures are maintained in good and safe working order in accordance with the Belong specification.
Taking responsibility for carrying out all health & safety and compliance checks as required and work in accordance with Belong standards and values, ensuring a culture and environment where people feel supported and valued. Rate of pay for this role is Β£13.60 per hour. 12 hours per week.
Requirements:
- Demonstrates qualities to deliver Belong vision and values appropriate to this level
- Communicates clearly and concisely using a range of methods to a variety of people with different needs and abilities
- Good understanding of the needs of older people and what they can contribute to the community
- Works independently, prioritises own work ensuring it is completed to the required standard and on time with limited supervision
- Knowledge of health and safety and water hygiene
- Experience of basic plumbing, electrical, joinery and gardening work
- Good numeric and literacy skills to enable the completion of reports and returns
- Good basic I.T. skills including email, internet and other Microsoft applications
- Ability to operate equipment such as carpet cleaners and scrubbers
- City and Guilds or equivalent in a building trade (Essential or working/prepared to work towards)
- Holds a current driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Willing to travel to other locations within the organisation
- Reliable and able to fulfil contracted hours and work patterns e.g. days, evenings, weekends
