Teaching and Learning

  • Consistently meet the Teachers’ Standards for all aspects of teaching and learning

  • Bespoke curriculum planning – using prior and current knowledge and understanding

  • Support the department to review and update SOW in line with National Curriculum and needs of the child

  • Inclusive teaching

  • Delivery of the curriculum – motivational, aspirational and quality first teaching

  • Baseline assessment where needed

  • Marking & feedback (as per school policy)

  • Monitoring attainment, progression and outcomes of all children in the subject

  • Design and implementation of ‘catch up’ programmes

  • Planning learning outside the classroom experiences to consolidate and extend

Children

  • Work one-to -one and in small groups with students to engage them in learning, through

activities and lessons in school and/ or off-site venues/ the home address

  • Support delivery of a bespoke curriculum linked to individual needs identified on EHCPs

  • Act as keyworker for allocated students, advocating for them and embedding positive

relationships with other agencies involved

  • Understand the importance of good attendance and work tirelessly to help pupils achieve it,

following the school’s Attendance Policy

  • Support compliance with the Home-School agreement

  • Ensure accurate recording on school management information systems

  • Allocate reward points and behaviour points consistently and fairly

  • Ensure pupils understand the importance of punctuality

  • Support pupils with transition to other settings, including Post-16 options

Community

  • Liaise with and record all communication with parents and other agencies

  • Communicate with internal contacts and external agencies consistently and appropriately

  • Regular progress reports to parents and carers

Environment

Safeguarding

  • Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (including Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies

  • Use CPOMS accurately, effectively and consistently

  • Promote the safeguarding of all students in the school

  • Liaise with Safeguarding Leads in line with policy

Health and Safety

  • Contribute to Risk Assessments for students, activities and venues, with responsibility for allocated students/ groups

  • Vigilance and awareness of the environment and needs of students at all times

  • Engage with the health and safety requirements of a school environment, including reporting of all identified risks

  • Sign in and out of sites as required

  • Comply with accident reporting and RIDDOR

  • Comply with tracking requirements whilst working in off-site venues

Training and Development

  • Complete all Statutory and company training when required

  • Value personal professional development

  • Engage positively in induction, probation, and performance management processes

  • Engage with CPD professionally and proactively

  • Complete all required and requested tasks in a timely manner and / or by specific deadlines
