We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Caretaker to join our team in Crewe. The successful candidate will serve as a visible and positive role model, providing excellent maintenance services to our community. As a Caretaker, you will support village teams in maintaining a clean, attractive, and functional environment. You will work with the property department to ensure the upkeep of village buildings, equipment, and fixtures, adhering to Belong standards.
Responsibilities include conducting health & safety and compliance checks, and maintaining a safe environment that reflects our values, fostering a culture where people feel supported and valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold Belong's vision and values through your conduct.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences.
- Understand the needs of older adults and their contributions to the community.
- Work independently, prioritising tasks to meet standards and deadlines.
- Maintain knowledge of health, safety, and water hygiene protocols.
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, joinery, and gardening tasks.
- Complete reports and returns accurately, demonstrating good numeracy and literacy skills.
- Utilise basic IT skills, including email, internet, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Operate equipment such as carpet cleaners and scrubbers.
- Hold a City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in a building trade (or be working towards it).
- Possess a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle; willing to travel within the organisation.
- Be reliable and flexible to work days, evenings, weekends, as contracted.
