Posted by: Director/Owner This is an opportunity for a construction specialist to join an established, multi £bn AUM RE lender with coverage across various European markets. They will sit as Co-Head of Construction Financing with a focus on the Spanish market. The person need not be from a lending background; this can be their first move into the space. However, they must be a seasoned construction specialist ideally with a QS/Building Surveyor/MRICS background. The Role Oversight and day-to-day management of complex construction assets or loans Construction risk management throughout the life cycle of the investment Working with the investment team to review new opportunities Working with the asset management team monitoring and assessing progress of the developments Assessing the suitability of counterparties, contractors, and professional teams Reviewing construction costs and programme of new deals Implementing procedures for Due Diligence Managing external construction teams and design teams Managing external enhanced monitoring teams Working with external monitoring surveyors accessing the technical due diligence of new deals Reviewing monthly monitoring surveyor reports Tracking construction cost and programme changes across the projects Approving UTR requests for construction related drawdowns Visit sites to meet with the sponsor, contractors, and professional team Identify discrepancies in budgets, reports and ongoing projects, recommend appropriate remedies for these discrepancies, and when necessary challenge borrowers and third parties Support re-underwriting of budgets by providing relevant insights The Candidate Chartered Surveyor (RICS qualified) Quantity surveyor or Building surveyor Highly analytical & numerate Risk management & reporting Real Estate Construction AM Minimum 15+ years’ experience in real estate development, construction, or asset management Spanish speaking Track record of managing projects in Spain Highly diligent, hands-on, and process-driven Persistent and organised Strong planning, organisational, negotiation, and analytical skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
