This is a Paralegal role within a global real estate investment platform with a multi-billion-dollar portfolio spanning operational real assets across multiple international markets. The firm specialises in operationally intensive real estate, where long-term value is driven through active asset management, platform partnerships, and complex transaction execution rather than passive ownership.
The Role
This position will sit as part of the firm’s transactions team, where you will provide the legal support. There is general counsel in-house, however, this person coming in will be their first Paralegal hire and the only person operating in that capacity. This person will be a key individual supporting the firm’s UK investment and asset management activities.
The Paralegal will act as a central operational partner to legal counsel, investment, and asset management teams, ensuring transactions, governance processes, and legal documentation are executed efficiently and compliantly across the portfolio. This is a hands-on, commercially exposed in-house role suited to an experienced real estate paralegal who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced investment environment with multiple concurrent workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Support - Coordinate legal due diligence, document flow, and closing processes across acquisitions, disposals, and financings. Manage data rooms, track conditions precedent, and support execution timetables. Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external legal advisers.
- Entity Management & Governance - Maintain corporate entity records and ensure ongoing statutory compliance. Support preparation of board minutes, resolutions, and governance documentation. Liaise with external corporate service providers across UK and offshore structures.
- Contract Lifecycle Management - Draft and review first-level commercial agreements (NDAs, engagement letters, service contracts). Coordinate internal approvals, execution processes, and document storage. Track key contractual dates, renewals, and obligations across the portfolio.
- Legal Data & Documentation - Maintain organised legal repositories and transaction records. Respond to internal document requests from finance, tax, compliance, and asset management teams. Ensure integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility of legal information.
- External Counsel & Legal Operations - Coordinate engagement, workflow, and billing with external law firms. Support legal research, internal guidance notes, and template development. Contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes and systems.
Candidate Profile
- Considerable experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant experience. Ideally within: a real estate investment manager, real assets private equity platform, operational real estate owner/operator, or a law firm with strong real estate transactional exposure.
- Knowledge & Skills - Strong understanding of real estate transactions, corporate governance, and entity structures.
- Experience supporting multi-stakeholder investment processes.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and deadline management.
- Confident communicator able to work across legal, investment, finance, and asset management teams.
- Comfortable managing multiple concurrent transactions and governance workflows.
- Proficient with document management systems, contract tracking tools, and Microsoft Office.
