An established European bank with a long-standing commercial real estate lending platform is looking to hire a Deal Execution Officer to join its Real Estate Finance team in London. This is a middle office transaction execution role, sitting at the heart of the lending process, responsible for ensuring approved real estate loans are executed, closed, and onboarded in line with internal credit, legal, compliance, and ESG requirements. The platform is active across investment and development finance, covering multiple asset classes. Deals are typically large ticket across multiple European jurisdictions.
The Role
- Manage the execution and closing of commercial real estate financing transactions from credit approval through to funding.
- Oversee the closing process, including preparation and management of closing checklists and conditions precedent.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and external parties (lawyers, borrowers, advisors) to ensure transactions close efficiently and compliantly.
- Support client onboarding, including managing KYC / AML processes and ongoing compliance checks.
- Use internal systems including rating models, pricing tools, KYC platforms, and pipeline management systems.
- Ensure transactions are executed in line with approved credit terms and internal governance standards.
- Monitor and capture ESG-related requirements, ensuring relevant documentation (e.g. EPCs, BREEAM) is complete and accurately recorded.
- Review third-party reports (valuations, insurance, technical, environmental, engineering) for completeness against credit and legal requirements.
- Assist with funding coordination and processing of transaction-related invoices.
- Ensure internal systems and databases are accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
