An international real estate investor and operator is seeking to hire an Associate or Senior Associate into its Operational Asset Management team in London. The business owns and partners with operating platforms across multiple sectors including living, hospitality and other operational real estate asset classes, and is focused on driving asset-level performance through close collaboration with operating partners.
This role sits at the intersection of real estate ownership and operating business performance, working directly with operators to optimise asset-level financial outcomes, support strategic initiatives and drive long-term value creation across the portfolio. This is a highly commercial role suited to individuals who combine strong financial capability with a deep understanding of operational real estate performance.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and drive operational and financial performance across a portfolio of operating real estate assets.
- Work closely with operating partners and on-the-ground management teams to identify and implement performance improvement initiatives.
- Analyse asset-level P&L performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities to enhance NOI and long-term asset value.
- Lead regular performance reviews with operating partners, including deep dives into revenue, cost structures, occupancy and operational KPIs.
- Develop and maintain financial models, business plans and forecasting tools to support asset strategy and decision-making.
- Support strategic initiatives including repositioning, capex planning, operational improvements and value creation programmes.
- Evaluate and execute operator-level initiatives and partnerships to enhance platform growth and performance.
- Prepare detailed investment and performance materials for internal investment committees and senior stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with investment, development and capital markets teams on portfolio initiatives and new opportunities.
The successful candidate will bring experience in operational real estate asset management, with direct exposure to managing performance at the asset and operator level. Experience working with operating partners or management teams to drive asset-level performance. Strong understanding of operational real estate financials, including P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting and value creation initiatives. Experience analysing operational KPIs such as occupancy, revenue generation, margin performance and operating efficiency. Ability to translate operational performance data into strategic asset-level decisions. Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills, including business planning and scenario analysis. Strong commercial judgement and the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and operating partners. Experience within sectors such as living platforms, hospitality, student accommodation, multifamily or other operational real estate asset classes is highly relevant.
