We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in Wigan. In this important role, you will provide high-quality care and support to young people in our children’s home, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Working as part of a committed team, you will contribute to the day-to-day care of residents, uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and wellbeing, and support children on their journey toward independence and positive outcomes. Location: Wigan
Hours: Full-time (details to be confirmed; sleeps may be required)
Responsibilities:
- Support the daily operations of the children’s home, ensuring a safe and positive environment for all young residents
- Deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans and Ofsted standards
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children to promote resilience, independence, and personal development
- Contribute to safeguarding practices, risk assessments, and the overall wellbeing of residents
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals to maintain the highest standards of care
- Encourage and support children to participate in activities that aid their growth and development
- Uphold professionalism, ethical conduct, and a commitment to continuous improvement in residential care
Requirements:
- Must hold a Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
- Experience in an Ofsted-registered children’s home
- Knowledge of Ofsted standards and processes
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to delivering the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct
