We're currently recruiting experienced Registered Nurses (RGN/RMN) for agency work within a secure prison environment. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide essential care to individuals in custody, contributing to both their health and wider rehabilitation.
The role will involve:
- Delivering day-to-day nursing care to a diverse inmate population
- Supporting individuals with physical health needs, substance misuse issues, and mental health conditions
- Administering medication and treatments in line with clinical protocols
- Working closely with prison officers and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective care
- Responding to medical emergencies within the prison setting
Requirements:
- Valid NMC registration (RGN, RMN or dual-qualified)
- Previous experience in a secure, forensic, or custodial environment (preferred but not essential)
- Current prison clearance (CTC or enhanced DBS with prison vetting) is desirable
- Strong clinical judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work flexibly across a variety of shifts
