Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an FLT Waste Operative to work with a client on a temporary to permanent basis. This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 3:00pm, with a one hour unpaid lunch break each day.
Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting waste management operations across a busy site environment. This will involve the safe movement of waste materials using a counterbalance forklift truck, as well as assisting with loading, unloading and general site duties.
Main Duties:
- Transfer waste materials around site using a counterbalance forklift truck
- Load and unload flatbed vehicles
- Move palletised waste safely and efficiently
- Carry out manual handling duties as required
- Operate baler and compactor units following training
- Assist with general waste management and housekeeping activities
- Follow all health and safety procedures and site regulations
Essential Criteria:
- Valid counterbalance forklift truck licence
- Previous experience operating a forklift truck in a busy working environment
- Ability to carry out manual handling duties
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous waste industry experience advantageous but not essential
