Educational Psychologist – Associate / Locum Opportunity
Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking experienced Associate / Locum Educational Psychologists to join its Extended Educational Psychology Team. This is an excellent opportunity for Educational Psychologists looking to focus on statutory assessment work and SEND tribunal activity within a supportive and flexible local authority setting.
The Role
- Deliver Educational Psychology assessments across Central Bedfordshire, supporting children and young people through statutory processes and providing high-quality psychological advice.
- Completing statutory Educational Psychology assessments
- Producing high-quality EP advice and reports
- Supporting SEND assessment processes
- Contributing to tribunal work and evidence where required
- Conducting observations and direct work in person
- Attending meetings (with flexibility for virtual attendance by agreement)
- Supporting children and families across Central Bedfordshire and occasional out-of-area assessments
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working available
- Assessments conducted in person
- Approx. 2 days allocated per assessment
- Meetings can be completed remotely by negotiation
- Minimum expectation of 4 Educational Psychology advices per month
About You
- Qualified Educational Psychologist status
- HCPC Registration (or eligibility)
- Experience completing statutory assessments
- Experience within SEND and tribunal work
- Strong report writing and communication skills
- Ability to independently manage assessment activity
