Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Brent Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience. We are looking for a SEND Case Officer. This role will be hybrid (HA9 0FJ) with 2 days office based.
The right candidate will:
- Be responsible for drafting individual, highly professional Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) within agreed timescales to be used as a blueprint for schools to support individual educational plans.
- Determine the appropriate level of financial support and/or provision in line with the Council’s policy for all Education, Health and Care Plans.
- Ensure that the statutory timescale allowed for producing proposed and final EHCPs are met.
- Be responsible for amendment and updating of EHCPs following annual reviews and including attendance at annual review meetings as required.
- Develop and maintain close and effective working relationships with parents/carers, young people, headteachers, SENCOs, and multi-professional teams.
We require the following:
- The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience of being an officer in SEND, ideally working most recently with secondary and post-16 age young people.
- A high level of experience of complex SEND matters, administrative processes, including the ability to use IT systems and databases accordingly.
