Overview
Belmont Recruitment are working with Kirklees Council\’s Repairs & Maintenance service, the Council\’s in-house contractor delivering first-class repair, maintenance and refurbishment services to local authority housing, schools, public buildings, and external clients. This is a temporary contract for 3 months with a view to extend. We are recruiting an experienced Roofer to carry out day-to-day repairs, maintenance, refurbishment and renewal work across the district.
Responsibilities
- Undertake general roofing repairs, maintenance, and roofing schemes on Council properties and external clients\’ buildings.
- Work with a wide range of roofing systems and materials, including built-up felt, flat roofing, pitched roofing, slating, and tiling.
- Ensure quality, timely service, and customer satisfaction in all work carried out.
- Use a handheld mobile device to record and update information accurately.
- Maintain awareness of Health & Safety and environmental issues at all times.
- Represent the Council professionally with tenants, clients, and external partners.
Qualifications / About You
- Apprentice trained, NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent), or able to demonstrate the required skill set.
- Full valid UK driving licence (use of council vehicle or own vehicle required).
- Physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and undertake manual tasks.
