Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Repairs Planner to work with Bury Council on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role. The incoming candidate will ensure that responsive and planned repairs are scheduled and delivered efficiently, supporting high-quality service delivery for our tenants.

You will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling and allocating all responsive and planned repair works.
  • Raising works orders and assigning jobs to operatives, contractors, and partners.
  • Monitoring workloads and resource availability in real time, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Liaising with tenants to arrange appointments and manage expectations.
  • Collaborating with the Customer Contact Centre and Bury Stores to ensure smooth material and repair coordination.
  • Maintaining operative diaries and ensuring repairs are tracked and completed efficiently.
  • Managing shared inboxes and providing data to support operative performance.
  • Supporting disrepair processes and legal timescales.
  • Handling enquiries, complaints, and safeguarding concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Using ICT systems including scheduling software and QL/DRS to manage repairs.
  • Participating in a shift rota covering service hours of 8am–5pm.
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and equality policies.

Essential Criteria:

  • Prior experience in scheduling and planning repairs.
  • Experience communicating with tenants via telephone.
  • Proven track record liaising with repairs operatives and supervisors.
  • Prior experience of working with QL and DRS systems.
  • Experience raising works orders and using repairs management software.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
  • Strong organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
