Plymouth City Council are looking for a change maker to deliver one of our flagship changes in Children's Services. Family Homes for Plymouth pulls together multiple workstreams to help support children and families in Plymouth that are in need of crisis support and potentially residential care. We are redesigning the way our system supports families through this process.
Our priorities and goals for this work are:
- To keep children safe and in their families
- To profile children in residential care and match them to foster families
- To support foster carers with assistance to enable them to take on children with specialist needs
- To build our own care homes in the city to keep children near their families and support networks
In the current financial year, we aim to save around £8m through changing how we operate to meet these goals. We need a catalyst to pull the components of this change together and help operate the business to maximise the benefits to children and families in the city, as well as to the Council's budget.
The right candidate will fill a role profile that we call a programme manager and is likely to have the skills and experience arising from this type of background. This role also requires someone who will lead and operate the changes required to our system. Working with Service Directors, Strategic Directors and Councillors, you will have experience of Children's Services so that professionals respect you, and you will have demonstrated how to lead big changes in complex organisations.
This is a really exciting opportunity to join a team committed to change - if you think you can help drive these outcomes with us, we look forward to reviewing your application.
