Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Pest Control Technician to join Manchester City Council on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week (Mon – Fri).
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a high quality pest control service across Manchester, including rodent and insect control in both domestic and commercial settings. This role involves working proactively with residents and businesses to maintain safe, hygienic environments while promoting the service to support community well-being and income generation.
Main Duties:
- Conduct surveys, inspections and treatments for pests and vermin in accordance with procedures and legislation
 - Undertake sewer baiting and drainage inspection work as required
 - Safely collect and dispose of discarded needles, syringes and other hazardous items
 - Provide advice to residents and business owners on pest prevention and treatment measures
 - Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation related to all works carried out
 - Ensure safe storage, handling and application of pesticides, tools and equipment
 - Perform routine vehicle checks and ensure safe operation and maintenance of assigned vehicle
 - Contribute to continuous improvement of pest control procedures and practices
 
Essential Criteria:
- Royal Society for the Promotion of Health Level 2 Certificate in Pest Control (or equivalent)
 - Proven experience in pest control, including rodent control in sewers and drainage systems
 - Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
 - Basic IT literacy and report-writing ability
 - Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling, work at heights, and access confined spaces safely
 - Full UK driving licence
