Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join Salford Council on an interim contract. This role will involve overseeing and supporting the operational delivery of services within Streetscene and Environmental Services, including Street Cleansing, Winter Weather Services, and Waste and Recycling collections.

Main Duties:
* Manage daily operations at the Waste operation site, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
* Lead, motivate and support a large team of operational staff to maximise productivity and maintain high performance standards
* Contribute to the planning, delivery and monitoring of all service areas within Streetscene and Environmental Services
* Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, service quality and value for money
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, partners and stakeholders
Essential Criteria:
* Proven experience working at a senior management level within large-scale front line operational services or similar environments
* Strong leadership and people management skills with experience overseeing multi-disciplinary teams
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of an organisation
* Good understanding of operational planning, performance monitoring and compliance processes
* Experience within Waste Services is desirable, though candidates with strong experience in similar operations or logistics environments will also be considered
