Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Carpenter to join Bromsgrove and Redditch Council\’s Housing Maintenance Team. This is a 3‑6 month temporary contract with a view to extend, working 37 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry within occupied and void council properties.
- Performing UPVC window and door installations, repairs and adjustments.
- Undertaking general joinery works such as fitting skirting boards, architraves, doors, and kitchen units.
- Installing and repairing timber and composite doors, locks, handles, and other ironmongery.
- Completing roofing and flooring repairs where required.
- Undertaking minor plaster patching, tiling, and basic plumbing tasks as part of multi‑trade responsibilities.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines and building regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or Multi‑Skilled Operative within housing maintenance or social housing.
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (preferred).
- Experience with UPVC window and door repairs and installations.
- Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided).
