Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Multi‑Skilled Carpenter to join Bromsgrove and Redditch Council\’s Housing Maintenance Team. This is a 3‑6 month temporary contract with a view to extend, working 37 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out 1st and 2nd fix carpentry within occupied and void council properties.
  • Performing UPVC window and door installations, repairs and adjustments.
  • Undertaking general joinery works such as fitting skirting boards, architraves, doors, and kitchen units.
  • Installing and repairing timber and composite doors, locks, handles, and other ironmongery.
  • Completing roofing and flooring repairs where required.
  • Undertaking minor plaster patching, tiling, and basic plumbing tasks as part of multi‑trade responsibilities.
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health and safety guidelines and building regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter or Multi‑Skilled Operative within housing maintenance or social housing.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (preferred).
  • Experience with UPVC window and door repairs and installations.
  • Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided).
