Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking Residential Support Workers to work on a temporary basis with a local authority in the North East. These roles are based within a nursing home environment and provide 24 hour cover through rotating day and night shifts.

Overview: You will support residents with a range of care and support needs, ensuring dignity, safety and wellbeing at all times. The role involves working closely with nursing staff and the wider care team to deliver high quality, person centred support.

Main Duties:

  • Provide day to day support to residents within a nursing home setting
  • Assist with personal care including washing, dressing and mobility
  • Support residents with meals and hydration
  • Promote independence, dignity and respect at all times
  • Observe and report changes in residents wellbeing to senior staff
  • Maintain accurate records in line with care plans and local authority requirements
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and other care professionals
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety policies are followed

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working as a Residential Support Worker or Care Assistant
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts on a rota basis
  • Willingness to work both day shifts 8am to 8pm and night shifts 8pm to 8am
  • A caring, reliable and professional approach to work
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to obtain
