Enfield Council is offering an initial temporary contract of 3‑6 months (potentially extending to a permanent position) for an Assistant Occupational Therapist, located at EN1 3XA.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver person‑centred, strengths‑based reablement interventions in home environments; work towards clear, outcome‑focused goals within defined reablement timeframes, including functional assessments of mobility, transfers, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Contribute to reviews of reablement outcomes (monitoring progress and adjusting interventions) to determine ongoing eligibility for care and support.
- Support the completion of Care Act (2014) assessments and support planning for individuals whose needs extend beyond the reablement period.
- Provide and ensure safe use of minor equipment and adaptations (e.g. grab rails, perching stools) and ensure service users are confident using equipment to maximise independence.
- Use judgement, assessment and decision‑making skills regarding eligibility for support and services, including risk assessment, to identify and allocate appropriate resources to meet customer needs and requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience working in a health or social care setting with adults who have varying levels of needs, and an understanding of how disability or health needs may impact daily living tasks.
- Experience completing assessments and support plans in line with relevant legislation and internal policies and procedures, making collaborative use of people’s personal and community resources to achieve assessed outcomes.
- Experience working in an occupational therapy setting (desirable).
