Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Westminster Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate per day which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

The right candidate will:

  • Manage the temporary and dangerous structures workstreams.
  • Assist the operational teams with enforcement on building control applications.
  • Assist with developing an effective "Target Operating Model" for the Building Control Team.
  • Discharge the council’s delegated powers and duties as required by the Building Act 1984, Building Safety Act 2022, London Building Amendments Act 1939 and other legislation and provide appropriate and proportionate advice to the responsible officer concerning decisions about compliance with the Building Regulations being within the limits of the post holder’s competence.
  • Manage the Councils enforcement portfolio including any necessary Court Action.
  • Oversee Registered Building Control Approvers notices and receipt of reversion applications and the required enforcement processes.
  • Manage the Dangerous Structures 24/7 provision and undertake ‘out of hours’ work in accordance with a team rota.
  • Maintain proper records of Dangerous Structures.
