Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Transport for City Regions (TCR) Programme Director to join Liverpool City Council on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and support the delivery of major transport and infrastructure programmes within the Highways & Transport service. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across key transport initiatives, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, partners, and officers to drive programme delivery and support the city’s wider regeneration and transport ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across Transport for City Regions programmes and projects.
- Lead on the delivery and governance of complex transport and infrastructure schemes.
- Work closely with senior leadership teams, stakeholders, and partner organisations.
- Manage programme performance, risks, budgets, and delivery timescales.
- Support service development and continuous improvement within Highways & Transport.
- Ensure effective collaboration across internal departments and external agencies.
Requirements
- Significant senior leadership experience within transport, infrastructure, highways, or local authority environments.
- Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Experience delivering complex, high-value public sector programmes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
