Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an Interim Executive Officer to join North Yorkshire Council on an initial 3-month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level executive support to a senior leader within the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
- Manage a complex and ever-changing diary, ensuring priorities are effectively coordinated and delivered.
- Act as a key liaison with MPs, elected members, government departments, businesses, community representatives and other senior stakeholders including Police and Fire.
- Work in a highly visible, externally facing role, representing the office professionally and building strong stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate briefing materials, meetings, events and public engagements, ensuring the senior leader is fully prepared.
Essential Requirements
- Experience of supporting a senior leader within a political or public sector environment is essential, with an understanding of political sensitivities and public accountability.
- Proven ability to manage complex diaries, competing priorities and demanding workloads.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative, sound judgement and a self-sufficient approach.
- Confidence to take the lead on issues, make decisions within delegated authority and drive activities forward with minimal supervision.
