We are currently recruiting for an Interim Capital Accountant – West Berkshire Council Salary: £75.00 Per Hour Hours: 37 Working Schedule: Monday to Friday Role: 3 Month Location: RG14 5LD -Newbury Job Details Working alongside our Senior Finance Manager for Capital & Treasury you will support in: Monitoring of capital projects, including the analysis and investigation of variances and, through discussions and meetings with Service Managers, the preparation of the quarterly capital monitoring & out turn reports. Ensuring capital funding is monitored and applied in accordance with the CIPFA Code of Practice and requirements of individual funding notifications. The post holder will be required to use knowledge and experience to make judgements as to appropriate solutions to problems. Responsible for monitoring the current financial position of the service areas and the approved Capital Programme as a whole. Assist with the preparation of the annual and 10-year Capital Programme. This will involve reviewing Business cases and assisting the managers with the setting of their budgets. Assist the Senior Accountant in the preparation of the year-end Capital accounts in respect of all service areas. This will involve assisting in the closure of the Capital cost centres, preparation of additions to the Fixed Asset Register and assistance in the production of Capital working papers. Ensuring that’s all assets are accurately reflected in the trial balance and financial statements. Implementation of a system to monitor leases to ensure compliance with IFRS16.
