Job Opportunity: Housing Liaison Team Leader

Good Afternoon,

I am representing Newham Council , which is offering an initial temporary contract for 3-6 months , with the possibility of extension or a permanent position for the right candidate. The salary is negotiable depending on experience.

We are seeking a Housing Liaison Team Leader . This role requires a minimum of 3 days in the office at E16 2QU .

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise a team of Housing Liaison Officers and Resident Service Officers, providing high-quality, customer-focused front-line housing management and landlord services to residents, leaseholders, and stakeholders. Promote community engagement and ensure residents enjoy a well-maintained environment.
• Manage workload distribution and foster motivation and high performance within the team.
• Oversee management of multi-tenure and leasehold properties across the borough or specific quadrants, ensuring the interests of customers, stakeholders, and the Local Authority are met.
• Strive to deliver a top performance culture with the customer voice at the center.
• Handle day-to-day team management, including performance, health and safety, wellbeing, absence, service coverage, and weekly duty planning.
• Manage first-line escalation of customer inquiries, including some formal complaints.

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of relevant Housing Law and practical experience applying legislation and best practices.
• Experience managing dispersed teams and achieving key performance indicators.
• Knowledge of various housing tenures, including leasehold, temporary housing, secure, fixed-term, and introductory tenancies.
