Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Caretaker to work with a Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role based in Skelmersdale, initially for a six month period.

Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of caretaking and environmental maintenance duties to help maintain public spaces and facilities to a high standard. Working as part of an operational team, you will undertake practical maintenance tasks and support the delivery of a clean, safe and well-presented environment across the local area.

Main Duties:

  • Carry out grounds maintenance and caretaking duties across public spaces and facilities
  • Operate handheld plant and equipment including weed sprayers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers and jet washes
  • Complete basic DIY repairs and maintenance tasks as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across designated sites
  • Assist with environmental maintenance activities to ensure public areas remain safe and accessible
  • Follow all health and safety policies, procedures and safe working practices
  • Work effectively as part of a team to deliver operational services

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance, caretaking or a similar environmental maintenance role
  • Full UK Driver's License
  • Experience using handheld grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
