Overview

General Practitioners - Adhoc Shifts across prisons in the North of England. Location: Various prison sites across the North of England. Type: Adhoc / Locum Shifts. Belmont Recruitment is currently looking to speak with experienced General Practitioners who are interested in Adhoc opportunities within prison settings across the North of England.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering comprehensive primary care services to a varied patient population
  • Providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and effective treatment planning
  • Managing both acute presentations and long-term conditions
  • Running clinics covering chronic disease management, acute care, and health screenings
  • Working collaboratively with mental health, substance misuse, and nursing teams
  • Supporting multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings to enhance continuity of care and risk management
  • Contributing to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Promoting health education, safeguarding, and preventative care within the prison setting

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified General Practitioner (MBChB or MBBS)
  • Current registration with the GMC
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work across different prison sites
  • Strong communication, clinical, and decision-making skills
  • Previous experience in secure environments (desirable but not essential)
  • Prison vetting clearance is required
