Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Brent Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.
The right candidate will:
- The Deputy Team Manager will be directly responsible for supervising a group of staff across their service area and dealing with day to day quality assurance, customer care and performance issues reporting to the Team Manager and Service Manager only when required.
- This position is based within the Hospital Discharge Team, covering a range of in-borough and out-of-borough hospital locations. Given the nature of the roles, it’s essential that candidates can work both autonomously and collaboratively in a pressurised, fast-paced environment.
- Make a positive contribution to the delivery of the service, this will include working flexibly and positively to achieve the objectives of the council.
- Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability.
- Manage a customer focused service and the effective use of resources.
- Ensure that the council’s overall vision, values and ethos are central to the requirements of the service.
- Support effective working relationships and act as an ambassador and advocate with external organisations.
- Keep up to date with developments in service delivery and best practice to ensure the service performs effectively and to the highest standards.
We require the following:
- Track record of achievement at a supervisory and/or management level in a similarly large and complex political organisation.
- Proven experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and multiple complexities.
- Direct experience in statutory settings within acute hospital environments.
- Effectively providing support and supervision to staff in delivering outcome focussed and cost effective assessments, support plans and services.
