Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Telecare Response Officer to work with a Local Authority on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working on a rota basis including evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Overview: The successful candidate will deliver emergency response and support to vulnerable clients within their own homes and supported housing schemes. The role will involve responding to emergency calls, providing immediate assistance including first aid where required, and ensuring the safety, wellbeing and independence of service users through the use of telecare and supporting technology.

Main Duties:

  • Respond to emergency calls, carrying out dynamic risk assessments and providing appropriate emergency assistance including first aid where required.
  • Attend client homes to deal with issues including equipment failures, alarms, lock outs and welfare concerns.
  • Support clients in maintaining dignity, independence and safety until further support is in place.
  • Install, demonstrate and support the use of telecare and Lifeline equipment, including basic tools and working at height where required.
  • Complete welfare checks, annual reviews and updates to client information and records.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all systems contain up to date client information.
  • Liaise with families, health professionals, housing teams and external agencies as required.
  • Signpost clients to appropriate services and support networks.
  • Assist with administrative duties to support the smooth running of the service.
  • Work flexibly across schemes including sheltered and extra care housing as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults in a care, support, housing or similar environment.
  • Experience working within policies and procedures and using initiative to resolve issues and escalate where appropriate.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively to emergency situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work in a busy and unpredictable environment and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and accurate record keeping.
  • Willingness to work on a rota basis including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Full UK driving licence.
