Working pattern: in the office and on-site
We are looking for a senior building surveyor who needs to have experience in building control and be or recently have been a senior building control surveyor.
Responsibilities:
- Review plans for a diverse range of construction projects.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations.
- Provide Building Control advice through various channels (phone, email, in person).
- Inspect dangerous structures during regular working hours.
- Participate in the out-of-hours dangerous structures rota.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and correspondence.
- Support the training of Trainee and Assistant Surveyors.
- Assist the Principal Surveyor and Head of Building Control with additional team duties.
Required Skills:
- Degree in construction or equivalent qualification, preferably with a Band C Building Control Surveyor Registration (BSR) qualification.
- Full corporate membership status with a recognised professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
- Minimum of seven years' experience in Building Control.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Eagerness to learn and develop both soft and technical skills.
- Strong team player with a sense of responsibility.
