Overview
Brent Council is offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.
Responsibilities
- To work to support service users in a respectful, honest, supportive and empowering manner, according to the standards laid out by Brent Council and the Direct Service Unit.
- To build links with Care Managers and work jointly with other Direct Service staff to assess service users’ needs.
- To develop building opportunities and work alongside and develop partnerships with stakeholders e.g. Brent Start.
- To ensure that programmes are developed for individual service users to identify life skills and goals.
- Be responsible for the safe delivery of the service in line with legislative requirements and the authority’s policy and procedures.
- To facilitate the delivery of service user’s Support Plans together with service users and their carers, drawing on resources and advice available within the service unit and the wider environment of Brent.
- To identify risks which may arise and involve professional staff as necessary in resolving or clarifying potentially risky situations involving service users and to report back to the Service Manager.
Qualifications
- Experience of adult services, risk assessment and person centred support.
- Experience of managing and developing an effective staff team including recruitment, training, supporting and supervising staff.
- Knowledge of health and safety matters in relation to community based services and risk management.
