Good Afternoon,
I am currently representing Southwark Council who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience.
We are looking for a Electrical Inspector this role will be based at: SE1 2QH
The right candidate will:
- Oversee and monitor contractors undertaking electrical inspection, testing and remedial works as part of the Council’s EICR programme.
- Inspect electrical installations and completed works to ensure compliance with current electrical regulations, technical standards and Council requirements.
- Review, validate and monitor Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs), electrical certificates and associated technical documentation.
- Identify defective, unsafe or non-compliant electrical installations and ensure that appropriate remedial action is undertaken within agreed timescales.
- Monitor contractor performance, workmanship, quality of installations and compliance with contractual requirements and service-level standards.
- Carry out site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify that electrical works have been completed to the required standard.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, internal teams and other stakeholders to coordinate inspection programmes, remedial works and certification.
- Provide technical advice and guidance on electrical installations, inspection findings, testing requirements and remedial works.
We require the following:
- Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation or an equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Relevant experience in electrical inspection, testing and certification.
- Knowledge of electrical installation standards, inspection procedures and remedial works.
