Good Afternoon, I am currently representing Area Camden, who are offering a Permanent position for the right candidate. We are looking for a Children’s Home Registered Manager. This role will be based in N8 with a base salary of £53,000 and the potential to earn up to £60,800 through bonuses.
The right candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2-3 years’ management experience.
- Have experience of working with young people aged 11-17 who exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Be accountable for delivering high quality care to the children and young people resident within the home.
- Be responsible for the delivery of all care services, strategic planning for developments within the home, and all day-to-day management matters.
- Demonstrate the ability to build on the principles and practice standards expected at Area Camden and proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of childcare standards.
- Deliver childcare that is focused on obtaining the best outcomes for each child and young person within the home.
- Demonstrate practical leadership in childcare, organise and support staff to provide the best possible care for each young person.
- Be personally available, supervise and mentor staff, organise work patterns, facilitate care-focused training, and access appropriate services to support childcare practices within the home.
We require the following:
- The ideal candidate would have an NVQ level 5 in Management and a minimum NVQ level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People.
- Experience of managing staff, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and leadership skills are essential qualities.
- Knowledge of the Children’s Act 1989 and Care Standards Act 2000 relating to Children’s Homes Regulations is required along with safeguarding procedures.
Additional Information:
- Benefits: 32 days A/L which includes Bank Holidays - this will increase by a day for the first 3 years.
- On Call: Included within salary - rarely done as it depends on home circumstances but shared out with DM.
- Ofsted Bonus: £3000 for an ‘Outstanding’ report and £1500 for a ‘Good’ report.
- Other: Company car/travel allowance of £3000 pa.
- Occupancy: Full occupancy - £400 per month.
- Ofsted Rating: Good.
