Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Business Support Assistant to work with Wrexham Council on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon – Fri). The incoming Business Support Assistant will be providing essential administrative support to a high-performing team. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while supporting staff, clients, and external partners with professionalism and efficiency.

Main Duties:

  • Act as the first point of contact for departmental queries, handling phone calls, emails, and visitors with a high standard of customer service.
  • Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and departmental systems, including data input and retrieval for reporting purposes.
  • Create, organise, and archive both manual and electronic files; handling mail, diary management, and basic financial admin (e.g., coding invoices, petty cash).
  • Support the wider team with word processing, PowerPoint presentations, and documentation using standard templates.
  • Coordinate meetings and events, including sending invites, preparing papers, taking minutes, and arranging travel.
  • Provide reception cover, stock control of stationery, and management of confidential employee records.

Essential Criteria:

  • Prior experience in an administrative role, ideally within a Local Authority / Public Sector entity.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous experience in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work confidentially and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Flexible approach with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing demands.
