Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Deputy or Senior looking to step up into a Trainee Children’s Residential Manager role for an Ofsted-registered Children’s Home in Bury. This is a full-time, permanent position offering structured mentoring and full support from a Senior Manager to help you develop into the role. The home will provide care for between 1 and 3 children. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality care while progressing into management, making a real difference to the lives of the young people we support.
Location: Bury
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the children’s home, ensuring a safe and positive environment for residents
- Deliver high-quality care in line with individual care plans and Ofsted standards
- Develop leadership skills under the guidance and mentoring of a Senior Manager
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children to promote resilience, independence, and personal development
- Contribute to safeguarding practices, risk assessments, and the overall wellbeing of residents
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals
- Uphold the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
- Experience as a Deputy or Senior in an Ofsted-registered children’s home
- Knowledge of Ofsted standards and processes
- Proven leadership and communication skills to inspire and motivate a team
- A commitment to delivering the highest standards of care, professionalism, and ethical conduct
- Passion for transforming the lives of children
- Motivation to progress into management with structured mentoring and support
