Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Insurance Officer to join Bradford Council on an ongoing temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management and delivery of the Council’s insurance arrangements
  • Assist with the procurement and administration of the insurance programme, ensuring compliance with the Insurance Act 2015
  • Lead on handling a range of insurance claims, ensuring they are managed professionally and in a timely manner
  • Liaise with claims handlers, legal representatives, loss adjusters, and internal stakeholders
  • Gather and assess evidence to support complex claims cases
  • Contribute to the development of loss control strategies to improve the Council’s risk profile
  • Provide advice and guidance on insurance matters, financial regulations, and risk management

Essential:

  • Experience of insurance within a local authority or large organisation
  • Experience handling and administering insurance claims
  • Understanding of insurance policies, clauses, and risk management principles
